The Westport Little League’s run in the Little League World Series may have ended this weekend, but the team’s hometown gave the players a homecoming to remember.
Westport held a main street parade and ceremony Monday to honor the all-stars for their efforts in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Thousands gathered to see the hometown heroes.
The team’s journey ended after losing to California in the U.S. final Saturday. They then fell short against Mexico at Sunday’s consolation game, losing 15 to 14. The boys finished fourth in the world and second in the nation.
The Westport girls softball team was also honored at the rally for winning the state title.
