The 10th Annual Taste of Westport is just around the corner. Bringing more than 20 local restaurants here to the Westport Inn. It's a night benefiting Clasp Homes and organizers say it will satisfy all cravings.
"Lot's of ice...," described Angelo Capponi of Pan e Bene Restaurant in Westport.
That's just one of the samplings you can expect on Thursday. This Italian resturant has become a favorite at the Taste of Westport, and this year the owner says the dishes will be even more "fun".
“We’re going to bring something call aranchini..and they are Sicilian rice ball..and we are going to do the meat and the vegetarian version," he said.
The event right now is costing 75 dollars a ticket, featuring a night of food, music, cocktails and a silent auction.
"We are so excited for our silent auction this year, it's just fabulous," said Robin Hammond of CLASP. "We have yankee tickets...," she explained.
And it's all benefitting CLASP Homes, an organization providing aid to those suffering from intellectual disabilities.
“We’re committed to the best the services that can be and not just what’s paid for," explained Tracy Flood of CLASP. "So, for example if someone goes into the hospital and needs extra staffing so they are not afraid, they are getting the best care they need. The state doesn't provide for that, but we will continue to serve them. So we have to fundraise," she said.
Taste of Westport will be on Thursday from 6pm-9 pm, and Selectman Jim Marpe has already declared it to be Taste of Westport Day. You can still buy your tickets in advance for 75 dollars or at the door for 80.
