This Saturday, May 17th - better known as Armed Services Day - SISU Elite Fitness wants you to get fit, have fun and make a difference. The Fitness Center will host "PushUps for Charity", a nationwide event raising money for our troops.
“We are so excited to host this event for the 2nd year in a row. My grandfather was a career Marine serving in World War II and many other campaigns, passing earlier this year. We will be honoring him and all veterans who sacrifice everything to keep us safe and protect our freedoms that we usually take for granted. This is a way to say thank you!” said Tommy Baker, Owner & Director Of Training for SISU.
The event will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a singing of the national anthem, heat announcements and a salute to our nation’s veterans with a moment of silence. From there, the pushups will begin! The clock will be set at 90 seconds and you will be asked to do as many pushups as you can. SISU Elite Fitness is looking to raise $10,000 dollars.
All proceeds will go towards The Boot Campaign, a national 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to showing tangible appreciation of our active military. The non-profit started the event five years earlier; and so far, has raised more than $600,000. This year, the goal is to raise $1 million. Funds will go straight to the veterans, providing things like jobs, housing and education.
SISU Elite Fitness is located at 507 Westport Avenue in Norwalk, CT.
