Here at Levitt Pavilion in Westport, a multi-million dollar construction phase is coming to an end. The opening is set for July, but let’s see how they’re making out.
Construction signs and equipment still greet you as you walk onto the site - evident of just how much work has taken place since breaking ground in October.
By its end, the project will cost nearly seven million dollars - or to be specific six-point-nine million dollars.
And here’s how that money is being spent:
Where you are seeing mounds of dirt and heavy-lifting equipment stands what will become a covered hospitality center, fit with indoor restrooms and concessions stands. It is one of the many ways Levitt Pavilion is becoming more accomodating to its guests.
And just up these stairs, you will find a beautiful new plaza. From here you can get a pretty good view of what nature has to offer. This plaza here leads into a fresh green lawn, and on a musical night this lawn can be filled with 1700 people.
It all looks onto the brand new stage, where musical acts like grammy winner Vince Giordano of the Nighthawks will visit this summer. And in order to accommodate big named artists like him, there’s a brand new backstage pavilion, where once stood a rustic RV. Dressing rooms now include showers, a common area and office space, plus you can see the construction of a new road. It's a more convenient and private way to welcome the musicians and performers.
All- in-all the construction here is meant to make Levitt Pavilion an enjoyable retreat at all times- even when there’s not a show. And, you will be able to see that for yourself at the Ribbon Cutting currently set for July 13th.
