In just a couple of week, the British romantic comedy "Things We Do for Love" will take the stage, here at the Westport Country Playhouse.
It’s a British comedy from the playbook of Alan Ayckbourn, telling the story about a tangled love affair centering on a woman's affair with her best friend's fiance.
Tony Award nominee John Tillinger will direct the play, which is set to begin here on Tuesday, August 19th. He's already a veteran of many Ayckbourn plays. The Playhouse says he was an obvious choice.
And, when it comes to bringing the characters to life, you can expect some familiar faces: Geneva Carr will be the lead female, previously appearing in four other Ayckbourn plays here at the Westport Country Playhouse. Matthew Greer will also grace the statge; you might recognize him from Braodway’s "Cabaret" or “The Real Thing". Plus, two other broadway stars, Sarah Manton and Michael Mastro, will join the cast as well.
The play will run through Sunday September 7th, with tickets selling at 30 dollars each. The playhouse describes the content as mature, suggesting it for those 16 or older.
